Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy
The Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy restores 100% of the basic sum insured once per policy year. It offers an optional Buy-back PED cover to reduce the waiting period for pre-existing diseases. Additionally, newly married spouses and newborn babies are covered mid-term with payment of an additional premium.
Coverage Benefits:
1. Hospitalization Cover:
- Room, Boarding, and Nursing Expenses: Coverage for a private single A/C room and associated boarding and nursing expenses.
- Surgeon, Anesthetist, Medical Practitioner, Consultants, Specialist Fees: Includes all medical practitioners' fees related to hospitalization.
- Medical and Surgical Expenses: Includes anesthesia, blood, oxygen, operation theatre charges, ICU, medications, diagnostic tests, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, dialysis, and pacemaker costs.
- Road Ambulance: Coverage for ambulance transportation to the hospital, from one hospital to another, or from the hospital to home for recovery (if certified by a medical practitioner).
- Air Ambulance: Coverage for air ambulance expenses up to Rs. 2,50,000 per hospitalization, with a maximum of Rs. 5,00,000 per policy period.
- Pre-Hospitalization: Medical expenses incurred up to 60 days before hospitalization.
- Post-Hospitalization: Medical expenses incurred up to 90 days after discharge.
- Outpatient Medical Consultation: Expenses incurred for outpatient consultations in networked facilities, with a limit of Rs. 300 per consultation.
- Domiciliary Hospitalization: Coverage for home treatment if the patient is unable to be moved to the hospital, or if there is no available room in the hospital. Certain conditions are excluded (e.g., asthma, hypertension, diabetes, and more).
2. Delivery and Newborn Coverage:
- Delivery Expenses: Includes expenses for childbirth, including Caesarean section.
- Newborn Treatment: Covers medical treatment for the newborn, including vaccination expenses up to the first year.
- Waiting Period: Coverage for delivery and newborn-related expenses is subject to a 24-month waiting period.
3. Outpatient Dental and Ophthalmic Treatment:
- Dental and Ophthalmic Coverage: Expenses for acute treatments for teeth or eyes are covered once every three years of continuous coverage.
4. Organ Donor Expenses:
- Organ Transplantation: Inpatient expenses related to organ transplantation are covered for the recipient. The donor's expenses for complications are also covered under the policy.
5. Hospital Cash Benefit:
- Daily Hospital Cash: Pays a fixed amount per day of hospitalization up to a maximum of 120 days per policy period. This is subject to a 24-hour waiting period for each claim.
6. Health Check-Up:
- Health Check-Up: Provides a benefit for health check-ups each year, subject to the limits in the schedule of benefits.
7. Bariatric Surgery:
- Bariatric Surgery Coverage: Expenses for bariatric surgery and related complications are covered, subject to a waiting period of 36 months.
8. Second Medical Opinion:
- Second Opinion: Policyholders can obtain a second medical opinion from the company's network of doctors.
9. AYUSH Treatment:
- AYUSH Treatment: Coverage for inpatient treatment under Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy is provided under the policy.
